Labor Day Birthday Beach Trip!

This Labor Day was an absolute blast! My parents invited Rich and I with Nick and Andrea to bring our babes down with them to Lincoln City. We have gone to this same beach house since I was in fourth grade so to bring my family was kind of surreal.

We went down on Friday so we could wake up at the beach on Saturday which was also Rich's 23rd birthday! We had delicious baked oatmeal and that afternoon my parents watched Benjamin. What a joy to be out on our own just the two of us for a few hours! We headed up to Cascade Head and made the trek to the top. What a beautiful view!! Totally worth it if you are ever in the Lincoln City area. Then we headed back to a wonderful night! My parents and planned out a awesome dinner starting with baked brie and blackberries. Then we had delicious salmon with corn and beans! We were all stuffed! Such good conversation and we finished out the night with Jungle Speed and Apple Pie! The best part was that we all got to relax and we al laughed A TON! I think at some point in the night each of us had tears down our face from laughing so much.
Here is my handsome birthday boy!

The next day we all hung out as a family. So great to relax a bit. It is such a blast to see Avery and Benjamin together. Avery is still learning to be gentle, but she is so intrigued by Benjamin. And Benjamin loves to watch her play. It is so cute!

Avery kept making this face. I only wish you could here the sound effect!

Hello Mamma!

After some great hang out time we all kind of had ants in our pants so we headed down to Depoe Bay. We walked the shops and enjoyed the sunshine! Benjamin crashed on the car ride home.

Cutie Pie Avery waiting for the sunset.

The time went by so fast I couldn't believe it! On Monday Rich and I were determined to stay at the beach for as long as possible! It was gorgeous. We headed down to Newport to explore and found our way to several terrible thrift stores. This was very disappointing to my California boy. He is used to a different kind of beach town. But we ended up heading to Nye Beach! So beautiful!

Rocking the diaper bag! :)

We finally headed home feeling blessed by such a retreat. A glimpse of relaxation and refreshment before we headed back to the stressors of regular life.
Thank you mom and dad!
